Reflection and Choice is the official blog of the School of Humanities at Houston Baptist University. The blog is designed to start conversations in our classrooms and community about what it means to be an educated person, how to improve the human condition, the connection between faith and reason, and our ability to live well and govern wisely in a democratic republic. And some of it’s just for fun.
The site hosts discussions in several areas – Art, Culture, History, Language, Law, Life, Literature, and Politics. It’s named Reflection and Choice after Alexander Hamilton’s reference in Federalist Paper No. 1 regarding the challenge of establishing and maintaining constitutional government.
The opinions expressed by its contributors are their own and are not endorsed or supported by the School of Humanities or Houston Baptist University.
Reflection and Choice has received attention in national and international press outlets such as The Washington Examiner, The Guardian, the UK Daily Mail, The Federalist, Prufrock, The Imaginative Conservative, The Houston Chronicle, and Fox and Friends on the Fox News Network.
